Mission/Vision | Board of Directors | Advisory Board | Staff | Stories | Phoenix History ![]() ![]() Bruce Hagen, President Bruce, a Petaluma resident since 1981, is a certified Project Management Professional, and for fifteen years has been managing technology development projects for startups and Fortune 500 companies alike. He was Chair and an 8-year Member of Petaluma Recreation, Music, and Parks Commission, and served on the Cultural Arts Council of Sonoma County. He is a founder/member of several local environmental organizations, including Petaluma Green Lane (bicycle advocacy), the McNear Park Community Garden, and Friends of Lafferty Park. For 10 years, he volunteered as "The Harmonica Man" for COTS Children’s Haven program, and has written a bi-weekly Petaluma Argus-Courier column on "creating sustainable community" since 1998. His wife and three children are musicians/music lovers. JT Bymaster, Vice President JT is a massage therapist who does transformational bodywork. He is the proprietor and director of the Phoenix School of Jujitsu, a martial arts school in Petaluma, teaching children and adults. JT has worked with youth in Sonoma County for the past decade. He is a Phoenix "Alumni" and a graduate of the Petaluma Area Chamber of Commerce leadership class. Molly Best, Treasurer Molly's detailed bio is pending, but we can tell you that the Tea Room is a great place to eat and meet in Petaluma's downtown, not far from the Phoenix, and that Molly's (and husband Daniel's) new baby is doing fine! Tommy Waugh, Secretary Tommy is a Phoenix alumni, and production guru for arguably the worlds finest guitar and bass amplifier company Mesa Boogie. Which is also located in Petaluma. He’s spent the last 11 years with the company, and when he’s not building amps, he’s out in the local club scene playing live. As a kid Tommy began his music journey right here at the Phoenix, playing late night slots at the age of 13 for friends and phoenix family. This gave him the tools to move on to those bigger stages like the Warfield, and The House of Blues. His love of the phoenix and passion for music has brought him right back to the place he literally called home as a kid Chris Cort A Petaluma native, Chris has been involved with non-profit organizations
and fundraising events since 1984. He helped produce the Mill Valley
Film Festival sponsored "Tribute to Bill Graham". Cheryl Negrin Cherl's detailed bio is pending , but we know she has a lifetime history of helping people get well, from the Haight-Ashbury Free Clinic (that very one!) to co-founding the Phoenix Teen Health Clinic. Jamie Rappaport Jamie's detailed bio is pending , but we know she was one of the co-founders of the Phoenix Teen Health Clinic and a pretty-long-time and respected member of the Phoenix Family. Ben Saari Ben's detailed bio is (you guessed it) pending, but Ben's been involved in community organizing, youth advocacy, and defending human rights for a better part of his life.
